The Job: 

This position will work directly under the Manager of Facilities. The Maintenance Groundskeeper who will be responsible for upkeeping the property grounds, ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintaining the visual appeals of the landscape.

Occasionally, you may be required to perform maintenance routines and tasks assigned for facilities.

Here are some examples of your day-to-day duties:
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep grounds clean, safe, and visually appealing.
  • Mow grounds using a combination of riding and walking behind power mowers. 
  • Trim edges around our walkways, paths, flower beds, walls, and fence posts. 
  • Prune shrubs, trees, to improve the growth and maintenance of the shape. 
  • Fertilize growing areas and insecticides places with insect issues.
  • Maintain parking areas free of leaf debris using a gas power leaf blower. 
  • Rake and mulch all planter beds as needed. 
  • Regulate irrigation systems that include all pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads to follow a conservative water schedule. 
  • Report all serious grounds problems and water leaks to our Facilities Manager. 

Safety
  • Follow safe work practices and participate in safety trainings of equipment pertaining to the job. Report any unsafe conditions or accidents within the premise.

The following qualifications are required to hold this position:
  • High school diploma or relevant work experience in maintenance or landscaping. 
  • Prior knowledge of operating equipment, tools, and methods utilized in lawn maintenance and landscaping. 
  • Basic understanding of irrigation systems, including pop-up sprinklers, PVC lines, and repairing valves. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license. 
Physical/Travel Requirements
  • Majority of the work hours will be spent outdoors with frequent exposure to different elements. There may be exposure to uncomfortable noise levels and body vibrations using the equipment.
  • You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, standing, walking or bending up to 60% of the time. Lifting can occur up to 30% of the role.
  • You must be able to operate a forklift and successfully recertify annually.
