Application Engineer - Inside Sales

Currently, we are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to join our inside sales team.

Overview:

This position is responsible for being the liaison between independent outside representatives and the different departments within FCI for the industrial product lines.  This position reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor. Carries primary responsibility to provide commercial and technical support to customers and sales representatives by email, phone or Live Chat within the same day.

In first 30 days

You will have an understanding of thermal dispersion technology

Basic understanding of FCI quotation and business systems

Ability to complete Engineering Work Requests

Has learned the basics of the Company’s terminology, product lines and company policies

Basic understanding of Representative/Distributors within territory

Within first 60 days:

Established proficiency of our quotation and business systems

Has completed an FCI product training seminar with hands-on training on FCI’s products

Within first 90 days:

General understanding of different systems and processes for Inside Sales needs

Within first 6 months:

Fully functional inside sales engineer

Speaker at one class of the FCI’s Rep/Customer Product Knowledge Workshop.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide Sales Representatives and Customer technical and commercial support.
  2. Assist the regional manager in overall business activity to meet or exceed defined goals.
  3. Review sales opportunities and determine technical and commercial approach.
  4. Generate technical calculation for both gas and liquid applications.
  5. Assist Accounting with credit definition process.
  6. Assist Shipping with shipping instruction to release orders on time.
  7. Review commercial terms for different RFQs.
  8. Review applications and configuration to determine best products to offer.

  • Follow safe work practices, participate in safety training as required, and report any unsafe condition or accident.

  • Employees are responsible to understand and support the quality policy and the appropriate elements of the quality management system for their areas of work, reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies including escapes.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality system.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Must have a minimum of 2-years’ experience in a technical field
  • Business, Marketing or Engineering degree preferred
  • Understanding of technical concepts, preferred in an instrumentation environment.
  • Technically proficient with to read and interpret product specification.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • High level of accountability.
  • Data and metrics driven.
